What are the characteristics of an eco-labelled hotel?
More than just a title, the European Ecolabel promotes a global approach to the life cycle and environmental impact of the service offered, requires constant monitoring of the actions taken and demands progress.
Auberge Les Murets has therefore embarked on a long-term challenge, covering a wide range of criteria:
- Taking a fresh look at the general management of the establishment: from environmental management to staff training, customer information and awareness-raising and, in a very pragmatic way, the maintenance of appliances and energy systems (heating, washing, monitoring consumption, etc.),
- Pay particular attention to reducing energy consumption: supply/production of renewable electricity, heating, lighting, etc,
- Encourage a change in behaviour to reduce water consumption by both employees and customers: sanitary facilities, laundry cleaning, watering,
- Encourage a change in behaviour to promote the reduction and sorting of waste, as well as composting,
- Promote the levers for change: ecological transport, local tourism, information on the European Ecolabel, choosing accommodation with European Ecolabel certification, etc.
